Police dogs were deployed in West Wickham after around 100 youths turned up to a house party uninvited before causing trouble.

A teenage boy was arrested at the scene for a public order offence after the 14th birthday celebrations turned sour in Hayes Chase just before 9.30pm on Saturday (September 15).

An officer from Bromley police told News Shopper: "The house was cleared but due to the sheer number of people and the fact that elements of the crowd were hostile and intent on causing trouble, two dog units assisted local officers in dispersing the youths from the street."

He added the incident was no fault of the homeowner who took “all reasonable steps to organise a safe party”.

Bromley police say details of the birthday party were shared on social media.

The arrested teenager has been released under further investigation.
