A man has had metal plates fixed into his jaw after he was knocked out cold in a “nasty and unnecessary” attack in Petts Wood.

It was when he confronted two men who had approached one of his female friends and began talking to her that he was punched in his face.

The 22-year-old victim was taken to hospital for cuts and bruises before he received treatment, while the two suspects fled from the scene.

He and his friends went to get some food at a nearby restaurant after they had been out drinking at the Sovereign of the Seas pub in Queensway.

Police have today (September 14) released two CCTV images of men wanted by officers for questioning following the assault at around 12.30am on July 7.

Detective Constable Dean Roberts, of Bromley CID, said: “This was a nasty and unnecessary assault on a man who was simply trying to take care of a friend.

“Anyone who recognises these men is asked to contact us as soon as possible.”
