A Purley teenager is in the midst of one of the most gruelling physical feats imaginable. swimming the English Channel.
But at 13-years-old, Kelly Bolton was too young to swim across the actual body of water.
So she turned her attention to the swimming pool, where during a 12 week span she will swim 22 miles, or the length of the Channel, all to raise money for Aspire.
"This is a big challenge, but the more she raises, the more of a difference she’ll be making," Kelly's father Nigel said.
"Kelly is a keen athlete and likes helping people," so please be generous."
A netball player and member of the Westcroft Triathlon club, her dad said her journey so far has been a great experience.
"Kelly has shown interest in wanting to swim the Channel for quite a while but is currently too young," Nigel said.
"However when the opportunity arose to swim the distance of the Channel for charity, she jumped at the chance."
"After registering with Aspire she set-up a Just Giving page with a target of £100 but has managed to raise £500 so far.
