The Met Police has issued a warning over the dangers of fake dating profiles.

Dating apps are a really common and easy way to make new connections, but they are also the perfect place for fraudsters.

There are hundreds of fake accounts out there, lots of bad people "looking for love" but usually they also want money.

It can be very easy to get taken in by someone saying all the right things, but what do you do if they ask you to help them pay a huge bill that they can't pay?

The Met Police tweeted: "Fraudsters can set up fake online dating profiles to try and gain your trust to get you to send them money.

"Don’t be fooled! Watch the video for more tips on staying safe on online dating sites #BeSafe"
