A man has been left in a critical condition after being attacked late last night.
Police were called at 11.13pm on August 22 to reports of an assault in London Road, Mitcham.
Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and found a man suffering serious head injuries.
He has been taken to a west London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
He has been taken to a west London police station where he remains in custody.
Detectives from South West CID are investigating.
A cordon is in place and enquiries continue.
