A man has been arrested in Penge after allegedly being found with a gun near a children's play area.
The man, 21, was arrested on Tuesday (August 21) in Penge Recreation Ground, as reported by Crystal Palace police on Twitter.
He was arrested by plain clothed officers who were conducting intelligence led police patrols.
A children's play area and sports facilities are both located in the green space. The man remains in police custody.

Just a few hours later police in Lewisham were called to another firearm incident in nearby Brockley after gunshots were heard in Mallory Close at around 9.30pm.

Detectives investigating the incident said a door was damaged but nobody has been reported injured.
More gunshots were also heard in West Norwood that evening prompting police to set up a crime scene at Knight's Hill.
Similarly there were no reports of injuries.
