A man who was arrested after being reportedly seen driving dangerously on a "stolen" motorbike in Plumstead has been released under investigation.

Police were called by the National Police Air Service shortly before 8pm on August 8 to reports of a motorbike being driven dangerously in Timbercroft Lane.

Officers in a helicopter followed the vehicle before the rider was seen to get off the bike and go into a pub, believed to be the Who'd a Thought It, where officers arrested the 22-year-old suspect.

A Met Police spokeswoman said the man was detained on suspicion various offences including driving dangerously, using a mobile phone while driving and theft of a motor vehicle.

The spokesman added the suspect was taken to a south London police station before being released under investigation pending further enquiries.
