Firefighters have been battling a fire at a field on the edge of Swanley this afternoon.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) dispatched four fire engines to the blaze, behind Swanley Park, off Eynsford Road.

According to KFRS, crews were called at around 4.15pm to the fire.

A KFRS spokesman said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service are at the scene of a large field fire involving cut corn on the Eynsford Road in Crockenhill near Swanley. Four fire engines have been sent to the scene."

Footage captured by Billy Miller appears to show a large area of scorched earth and a large plume of smoke coming off the field.

As of 7.30pm it is understood fire crews remain at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
