Frustrated commuters in south east London are continuing to experience frequent delays because of a derailed train.

The train, which was not in passenger service, derailed in the Grove Park depot and disruption is expected to last throughout the morning.

Southeastern say work is being done to remove the train but this is expected to rumble on into the afternoon resulting in more delays.

A National Rail statement read: "Southeastern have currently lost full use of all tracks in the depot whilst the situation is looked at, they are working to clear other routes in the depot (this is not affecting the mainline) as such some cancellations may occur whilst the lines are cleared."

Southeastern said the train derailed off the tracks at 5.38am.

It is expected the travel disruption to and from Lonodn Cannon Street will last until at least 1pm.
