An angry dog walker has said whoever is responsible for fly-tipping on land in Biggin Hill should be ashamed.

Lisa Jordan, aged in her early 50s, was walking at the top of Norheads Lane on Tuesday morning (July 3) when she came across the unwanted rubbish.

She told News Shopper: “It is just criminal. Unfortunately it’s not totally surprising because they are always doing it.

“It is a common place to fly-tip.”

Lisa, who often walks her dog on Norheads Lane in Westerham, posted images of the waste on Facebook.

In a post she wrote: “When you’re resting on your new bed, watching your new TV, spare a thought for the countryside you’re wrecking. The wildlife you’re putting at risk with the plastic bags etc.

“More and more common for our beautiful countryside and lanes turning into a tip. Shame on you that you think it’s ok to do this, or throw empty drink cans, bottles etc from your cars.

“Putting people’s lives at risk to clear up your mess, or having the lanes closed to clear up safely. Take your rubbish home.

“Look after our stunning countryside or live near a council tip if this is the view you prefer.”

Councillor Kate Lymer commented: “Dumped rubbish rightly makes residents and the council angry.  There is no excuse, with the council’s reuse and recycling centres available to take most types of rubbish from residents for free.

"Often, specific areas are targeted as they are quieter and flytippers are warned that they might target these areas but we’re watching and you risk being prosecuted.

"Please do report flytipping incidents to the Council using the website.  Please always check the credentials of someone who offers to dispose of your waste to see if they are licensed, otherwise you could be liable for prosecution.

"Finally, if anyone has any information leading to a successful prosecution, we offer rewards of up to £500 – please get in touch.”

News Shopper understands the fly-tipping has since been cleared.
