Bags of donations left for a charity shop in Chislehurst have been snatched in broad daylight.

Tinks Community Charity Shop was targeted at around 6.45am on Friday (June 22) morning as donations were left on its doorstep on Chislehurst High Street.

Owner of the shop, Moira Moyce, said: “It is a regular occurrence here. The woman this morning walked up to the bus stop, looked around, took the bags of donations and went.

“It looks like bags of clothes. We are all so angry. It is horrendous. There is so much of this going on in Chislehurst, it used to be a beautiful place, but the statistics suggest otherwise now."

The charity shop provides donations to Marjorie Mcclure School, Phoenix Centre, Bromley Bereavement Counselling Service, along with others.

Moira said people should not be surprised how often the shop is targeted and that she has stopped reporting the burglaries to police.

She added: “We have had people pull up in silver Mercedes cars, fill the boot and go. Our donations are usually expensive.

“We are thinking of starting a wall of shame for every person caught stealing from us. It should not have to come to this.

“Our charities really rely on our regular donations.”
