A library in Lewisham is back up and running after being broken into early this morning (June 21).
Manor House Library, on Old Road, had a window smashed before fire extinguishers were stolen.
One of the librarians told News Shopper: “We were broken into between 9pm last night and 6am this morning. They tried to break one of the doors.
“They broke a window and came through there. They didn’t do too much damage. There was a lot of glass everywhere.
“Fire extinguishers were stolen and they damaged the garden somewhat and smashed a noticeboard.
“It was more vandals than theft.”
The library was closed this morning as police arrived to investigate, but is now open as normal.
