A shocking video has emerged showing a man on a mobility scooter crashing into two elderly women in Welling and then appearing to drive off.

The CCTV footage from South East Models shop, shared with News Shopper, shows a man on a scooter driving past two women waiting for a bus.

The driver is then pictured reversing and backing into one of the women, knocking her over.

After the woman collapses, the driver continues by reversing into the second woman. She is pictured stumbling before falling over.

As both elderly women are on the floor, the man drives off while other people appear to help the victims.

Ian Gooch, who recorded the video on CCTV, posted it on Facebook. He added in the description that one of the women hit was in her 90s, but that both of the women were OK.

Speaking to News Shopper, he said one of the victims had visited his shop today.

"They didn't know what had happened. They thought they had been pushed until they saw the footage."

He added she had "patched up her knees, but had hit her head on the bus stop when she fell." She also said she had twisted her earring, which she was not happy about.

Mr Gooch believes the culprit had just got off the bus before targeting the women.

A Met Police spokesman said: "On Thursday, 14 June at 13:35 hours a member of the public contacted police stating that he had seen a man on a mobility scooter collide with two elderly women and make off.

"Police were informed that the women were not injured and that the incident had occurred at 12:00 hours.

"The caller stated he had footage of the incident and he was advised to take it to a police station."
