A Lewisham man caught with heroin at a McDonald's has been jailed.

Iaia Dabo, 20, of Blessington Road was arrested in August last year at the McDonald's in Station Road, Redhill after an on duty Met Police officer observed a suspected drugs deal nearby and informed Surrey Police.

Plain clothed officers apprehended Dabo and during a search, three mobile phones and a quantity of cash were found in his pockets. A further search in custody found 12 wraps of heroin in his underwear.

On June 11, Dabo was sentenced to three years in prison for possession with intent to supply.

Investigating officer, PC Munday, said: “Drug dealing will not be tolerated in Surrey and we’re working tirelessly to tackle the issues drug dealing brings to our county.

"Dabo had the audacity to deal Class A drugs in a fast food restaurant with children present.

"We work closely with our colleagues at the Metropolitan Police to disrupt cross-county drugs lines and hope Dabo’s sentence is a deterrent to those thinking about coming to our county to deal.

“Information and intelligence reported to us by members of the public is vital to our investigations. If you suspect someone is dealing drugs, please call us. Any information you can provide could help us clamp down further on those who commit these crimes.
