An Italian sculpture inspired by the work of Beckenham’s David Bowie chiseled out a bust of the superstar displayed in his home town.
Maria Primolan was born in Turin and has made many sculptures and artwork for a variety of Italian churches, but it was the Beckenham musician that inspired her.
After his death in January 2016, she started several works inspired by his work and image, including the lime wooden bust.
This sculpture now is on display in Beckenham Library with its Ziggy Stardust-inspired lightning bolt down his face.
She has even more works planned in honour of the musician, including two terracotta busts inspired by the Scary Monsters and Space Oddity album covers.
Her work is set to be on display in Bromley at the Ripley Arts Centre, staring on June 20 where it will be there for the next month.
