A police suspect fleeing a chasing officer was caught thanks to a Good Samaritan lending the policeman a BMX.
PC Iveson was in Mayow Park in Sydenham on June 1 just after 3pm when he tried to stop someone he believed had a knife.
The suspect ran away but a quick-thinking member of the public lent the officer his BMX to chase down the perpetrator.
Reports of PC Iveson performing bar spins and backflips while chasing the suspect are unverified, but he did catch the 19-year-old man.
PC Iveson said that it happened out of his own stubbornness and refusal to accept that suspects, especially those carrying knives, might get away.
The suspect has since been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and remanded to appear in court.
