A murder investigation has been launched after the body of a 31-year-old woman was found inside a flat in Bromley.
Sophie Cavanagh was discovered on Sunday, May 20, after the London Ambulance Service called police to a flat on Chatterton Road just before 6.15pm.
Police are now searching for Sophie's estranged husband, Martin Cavanagh, 34, as a matter of urgency.
He is believed to have links to south-east London and the south coast.
The death was initially treated as unexplained, but is now being regarded as suspicious after the post-mortem.
DCI Vandenbergh said: "We are working tirelessly to establish exactly what happened in the lead up to Sophie's death and I am committed to finding the person responsible for this vicious attack.
"I would urge anyone who knows the whereabouts of Martin Cavanagh to get in touch. My advice would be not to approach him, but dial 999 or the incident room straight away."
Police are waiting for the full outcome of the post-mortem.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 02087214691.
