Armed police arrived to a home in Erith after being called to reports of shots fired.
However, when they arrived to Alford Road they quickly learned that the disturbing noise was from an air gun.
A police spokesman added: "We were called to reports of shots fired. Officers attended the location and established that an air gun was being used in a garden.
"Nobody was arrested and no weapons were seized."
People took to social media to report seeing armed police in Alford Road on Saturday, May 19, at around 7pm.

But rest assured - it was just one big noisy false alarm.
