Drivers in Sidcup are being warned to keep valuable items out of sight in their cars after a patient at Queen Mary's Hospital had his van broken into while he was having treatment.

The patient, who had tools in his van, went to Queen Mary's for treatment in the morning on May 12.

Police believe that, between 11.45am and 12.10pm, his van was broken into and the tools were stolen.

A statement from police has warned people that Queen Mary's car park is a particular target for thieves.

It also said there is a high level of vehicle thefts in the area, and urged drivers to keep their valuables safe to prevent enticing thieves.
