A businessman has said the company he works for is suffering because of “extremely bad” fly-tipping.

Printheads and Paper International is located on Kangley Bridge Road in lower Sydenham and according to employee Tony Duarte, fly-tipping has been prevalent there for years.

He told News Shopper: “It has got worse. It is like a war zone. We can’t invite anyone. We have suppliers form China but we are reluctant to invite them because there is a fridge lying on the road.

“It is really embarrassing – it just puts people off. It is almost unbearable.”

Bromley Council say they will offer a £500 reward for information that leads to prosecution about fly-tipping on the road.

Mr Duarte said Kangley Bridge Road is littered with skips, rubbish and vehicles without parts.

He added: “The road is not fit for purpose. Parking is allowed on both sides of the road but it is a mess, it has not been cleaned for two years.

“There is litter everywhere.”

Mr Duarte told News Shopper the van in the above photo has been there about four weeks.

"There is also a car in front of the van with no wheels."

The part of Kangley Bridge Road where Printheads and Paper International is located is under the authority of Bromley Council.

A spokesman for Bromley Council said: “Investigations are continuing regarding this flytipping incident and if anyone has information which could lead to a successful prosecution, we would be very pleased to hear from them, with a reward of up to £500 available for information leading to prosecution.

"This also includes potential local businesses who may have relevant CCTV footage. Flytipping is a serious problem which we are tackling and it is not an easy situation to resolve but we are committed to doing what we can, including responding to reports of dumped waste and arranging clearance.”
