UPDATE - British Transport Police say the man who died was 27-years-old and his family have been informed.
A man has died after he was hit by a train at Penge East railway station earlier this bank holiday Monday.
British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to the scene shortly after 1.30pm, in Station Road, on May 7 alongside other emergency services.
A spokesman for the force said the male was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious.
The cause of his death is currently unconfirmed.
It appears emergency services are still in attendance at the station at the time of writing.
