Police have appealed for a victim to come forward after a man was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery at Swanley train station on Wednesday afternoon.

According to British Transport Police, a man approached a passenger waiting for a train at 2pm and demanded he hand over his phone.

When the passenger refused, the man tried to push him onto the train tracks.

After the incident occurred, the passenger reported it to staff at the train station, but so far he has not made contact with police.

Officers are urging the victim to get in touch "as a matter of urgency."

They have also appealed for any witnesses who may have seen the incident to get in touch with British Transport Police via text on 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 365 on May 2.

Police confirmed a 25 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and is in police custody while enquiries continue.
