A Lewisham police officer who was dismissed for allegedly assaulting his partner has returned to work after he successfully appealed.
PC Ben Cowen had been found guilty in October 2016 of assaulting his partner at their home.
It had been alleged that the then 37-year-old had shouted at his partner that he was going to kill him.
Bexley Magistrates Court found him guilty of actual bodily harm, but the police officer brought the case to crown court on appeal.
The case was overruled on appeal at Woolwich Crown Court in January 2017, however PC Cowen had to wait for over a year before the Met Police misconduct review concluded.
Finally yesterday (April 9) the panel concluded that any gross misconduct had been disproved.
This mean the officer was finally able to resume his job full time working for Met Police.
