A milkman says he was punched multiple times in the face this morning as he delivered milk in Beckenham.
The man was on Kings Hall Road when the reported assault happened shortly before 7am.
He said he was assaulted by a man who had been riding on a motorbike.
Tensions are understood to have flared after the milkman indicated to pull his van over before hearing a noise to his offside mirror.
A police spokesman commented: “He looked out his window and saw a motorbike with two males. He believed they may have collided with his mirror.
"The victim parked his van and walked over to the two males to ensure they were okay. The motorbike was next to them on the floor.
“One of the males then punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. The suspect then hit the victim twice more in the face.”
The victim managed to escape before flagging down a dog walker who called the police.
He was taken to a south London hospital after suffering facial injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
Police believe the suspect is white, in his 20s, about 6ft and was wearing a blue motorbike helmet and a black motorbike suit.
No arrests have been made.
