A Plumstead man who shouted “torrents of abuse” at train station staff while threatening them with a knife has been jailed.
Anthony Vassell, of Marmadon Road, was arrested after officers caught him at West Ealing station with a knife on February 21.
The 55-year-old man was shouting and threatening both staff and passengers at the station before he was arrested.
Vassell appeared at Blackfriars Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to possession of a knife and breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.
He was sentenced to 18 months in jail in total for the two offences.
PC Amy Morton said: “Officers were called to West Ealing station by station staff on February 21, after they were subject to a torrent of abuse and threats. It naturally left them very shaken by the incident.
“Carrying a knife on public transport or on the streets will absolutely not be tolerated, so I’m pleased Vassell now has 12 months behind bars.”
