From Clock House to Beckenham Junction, hundreds of excited children and their families filled the High Street on Saturday 24 March in search of purple bunnies.

Why purple? Because the Beckenham Bunny Hunt organised by the Purple Flag team covered the entire length of the Beckenham Purple Flag area. The children followed the route on purple maps, spotting purple bunnies at 25 locations to receive a large chocolate egg in Burger & Bubbles at the end of the trail.

Jodie of Nellie’s Baby Boutique, Clock House, was delighted with the “Great family day bringing the community together in Beckenham. Great to get Clock House Parade on the Beckenham map”. At the other end of the High Street, Em of Em & Lou’s Kitchen called it “A real family affair in Beckenham, bringing everyone together with fun and laughter”.

The Purple Flag Team thanks sponsors Burger & Bubbles, Cadbury’s, 1230TWC and GradFinale Yearbooks, and all the wonderful participating businesses which joined in so whole-heartedly along the route.

EDITOR’S NOTES
The Purple Flag scheme has been set up to establish national standards and raise the image of Britain's town centres at night. By meeting the standards set by Purple Flag, a great evening and night-time offer can be promoted. Purple Flag aims to raise standards and improve the quality of our towns and cities by incorporating all aspects of evening & night-time economy management into a comprehensive framework for local partnerships to aspire to.
This is Beckenham’s second year of being awarded the Purple Flag.
