A new Beckenham secondary school has been approved and construction will begin next month.
Eden Park High School will eventually welcome 1,600 pupils into its new home in Balmoral Avenue.
Bromley Council approved the E21C Trust request on Thursday (February 22).
The school has been in temporary accommodation at The Ravensbourne School in Hayes since last year.
Headteacher Emily Codling said: “It’s a fantastic outcome. It means we can now start the incredible transformation of our school site on Balmoral Avenue.
“The team at Eden Park High School can’t wait to see the innovative plans come to life as construction begins.
“It really is going to provide the best learning environment for our students, who are equally as excited to move to our permanent site.”
The 1,600 Eden Park students will ease pressure on the projected shortfall of school places in the borough.
The E21C Trust runs three academies: Mottingham Primary School, Scotts Park Primary School and the Ravensbourne School.
