A resident has been left fuming after claiming continued fly-tipping outside her home could result in a fire if no action is taken.

Kymberly Smith, 34, said the land in Ash Row where she lives has been a dumping site for at least two years.

She said: "It is awful. It has never been cleaned. It is piling up and it is not acceptable that it is used as fly-tipping. It is now a fire risk - it would only take one kid to drop a lighter there for it to go up."

She said she has contacted owners of the land, Clarion Housing, various times, but claims to never hear back.

"It is just horrible and depressing - the place is an eye sore and deeply embarrassing," she added.

According to Ms Smith, there are no signs discouraging people from dumping their rubbish.

She said: "There is absolutely nothing. People have started using the side of my house as bin storage. Bins are being piled with rubbish. It is disgusting."

A spokesman for Clarion Housing told News Shopper: “Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention, we will look into it immediately.”
