A man caught with a knife in a police stop-and-search in Welling has been spared jail.
Danny Chadwick, of the Grove in Bexleyheath, was given a suspended sentence after he was caught with the knife by police in Bellegrove Road earlier this month.
Chadwick, 39, was sentenced at Bromley Magistrates' Court on February 21 for possessing a pointed or bladed article in a public place.
Magistrates slapped Chadwick with an eight-week custodial sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered him to complete 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
He must also pay court costs.
