A woman's severe reaction to fake Kylie Jenner cosmetics has prompted a safety warning.
Bronagh McLaughlin posted on Facebook photos of her sister Rachael who had been given what she thought was a Kylie Jenner Lip Kit bought off a buy-and-sell section on the social media site.
The 18-year-old ended up in hospital when her lips and face swelled up after she used the counterfeit lip product.
Bronagh McLaughlin posted: “Please be aware of fake Kylie Jenner Lip Kits off the internet and Buy and Sell websites. They are not the real thing, they are full of toxins, poisoning agents and superglue as you can see."
She added: “This is the consequences of a fake Kylie Jenner Lip Kit, which could of ended up with a fatality if not treated as soon as it was, this didn’t just affect the lips but also the whole face and closed over the back of the throat.”
Bronagh told Cosmopolitan that her sister had been on a night out and was reapplying the product all night, but when her lips started to swell she rushed home.
The next day she was taken to hospital and given antibiotic cream to treat allergies.
The product was allegedly bought on a Facebook site for just $3 but the page has since been deleted.
Bronagh, from Northern Ireland, told News Shopper her sister did not know the product was fake as it was brought for her by a friend.
Reality TV personality and model Kylie Jenner has previously warned on Twitter that her lip kits are only sold on her own website and nowhere else.

Buy-and-sell adverts pop up a lot on Facebook and it can be easy to buy products that look legitimate, but this is a warning of how easy it can be to buy a fake product and what can go wrong.
