A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a hit and run in Thamesmead left the victim with serious injuries.
Police officers were called to reports of a car hitting a pedestrian on Twin Tumps way close to the retails park at around 10.20am on Thursday (February 1).
The 26-year-old man was taken to hospital where Met Police say he remains in a critical condition.
The driver failed to stop at the scene and a car matching the description was later found abandoned on Belvedere Road in Abbey Wood.
Police are continuing to plea for witnesses. Detective Inspector Elaine Crossinggum, attached to Greenwich Borough, said: "We urge anyone who may have seen this hit-and-run to please come forward and contact police.
"The victim was crossing the road when the driver failed to stop and left this man in a critical condition. We believe he headed off in the direction towards Belmarsh Prison.”
A 48-year-old man was arrested on Saturday (February 3) on suspicion of attempted murder and released under investigation.
Another 39-year-old man was arrested on Friday (February 2) on on suspicion of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. He too has been released under investigation.
