A man is fighting for his life after a suspected hit-and-run crash in Thamesmead.
A car crashed into the 26-year-old pedestrian in Twin Tumps Way at about 10.20am yesterday morning (February 1).
The victim was taken to an east London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Police say the driver failed to stop, and a car matching its description was later found abandoned in Belvedere Road.
A witness, who didn't want to be named, told News Shopper there was a "sea" of emergency services at the scene yesterday.
He said: "When I got to the roundabout by Morrisons I saw a sea of blue lights, two cars stationary and crowds gathering.
"As I got closer I could see a black man laying in the road surrounded by paramedics and the trauma doctors from the helicopter.
"They were working on him at the roadside for quite a while before they were able to get him to a position that he could be put on to a stretcher."
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
