A pensioner was thrown to the ground and beaten by a thug who stole more than £200 of her savings in Woolwich.
An 89-year-old woman was robbed close to the Clockhouse in Woolwich, at around 3pm yesterday (January 31).
The victim had just withdrawn her savings when she was thrown to the ground, punched and robbed in broad daylight.
About £250 was stolen from the woman, who has sustained bruising to her shoulder and head.
Police are investigating the attack, and have started raising donations to see her through.
Tesco and Greenwich Council staff along with police and ambulance staff have all donated to the victim.
The victim has not got any lasting injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
