A 41-year-old man has died after he was hit by a train at Crofton Park Station.

British Transport Police were called along with London Ambulance Service shortly before 6pm yesterday (January 30) to the rail station.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is being treated as non-suspicious.

Jenny Patricia wrote on Facebook: "My son came back and said there were ten police cars and ten ambulances near the station."

The line between Nunhead and Bromley South was closed for an hour due to the incident and trains were not able to run.

His family has been informed and a report is being prepared by British Transport Police for the coroner.
