The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow that could hit London in the coming days.
Winter showers have already hit the north of the country and by this evening London and Kent could see a few flurries of snow.
Snow and ice will descend upon southern England on Tuesday evening and overnight into Wednesday.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “The warning has been extended further south and east to cover small amounts of snow, for example in parts of southern England. Delays to travel are possible, with a lower likelihood of cancellations of public transport. Some roads and pavements will turn icy, with an increased likelihood of some accidents and injuries."
There is already a yellow weather warning covering London as gale force winds hit causing possible travel issues.
Tonight will be windy and cold with scattered showers, giving some sleet and snow, mainly on hills although perhaps to lower levels for a time, and icy stretches. Minimum temperature -1C.
This means that the coming days could be very icy on the roads and under foot so you will need to take extra precautions.
