Crystal Palace are set to miss out on Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin.

The Frenchman is expected to join La Liga giants Valencia in the next 24 hours.

West Ham were also interested in the £10m-rated player, but reports in France claim he has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Spanish club.

Coquelin, 26, is a product of Arsenal’s academy and has made over 100 league appearances for the club.

And he got his first-team chance after a successful loan spell at Charlton Athletic in 2015, but has been out of favour at the Emirates for the past two seasons.

He was left out of the Arsenal squad for their 4-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday, which increased speculation of a Gunners exit.

And now, Coquelin is set to join Valencia, who are third in La Liga.
