Police are appealing for help identifying a suspect after a teenage girl was "sexually touched" on a 96 bus from Bluewater.

The 17-year-old victim was on the bus travelling towards Plumstead when a man got on at Dartford Magistrates' Court.

Despite there being other seats available, the man sat next to the victim on the upper deck and then assaulted her.

The victim got up from her seat and confronted him before getting off at Plumstead Corner.

The man got off the bus shortly afterwards in Plumstead High Street.

The incident happened about 6.30pm on August 27.

PC Chris May, investigating officer from the Met Police's roads and transport policing command, said: “We want to speak to this man in connection with this sexual assault.

"If you can identify him, or offer any information which could progress this investigation, we would like to hear from you.”

The suspect is described as a white man, in his 40s, of medium build with short brown hair. He wore a brown jacket, a blue T-shirt, white and black patterned shorts and grey Nike trainers. He was carrying a black rucksack.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
