West Molesey's Bake Off contestant Sophie Faldo had cause for celebration as she was crowned star baker for the first time.
Pudding week exposed all of ex-army officer turned stuntwoman Faldo’s talents as Paul Hollywood described her Yuzu showstopper as “Michelin-starred quality.”
This week tested the timings of the bakers with a staggered technical challenge of molten chocolate cakes with a peanut butter middle. Some of the baker's shone with perfect chocolate masterpieces, whereas others failed to guess the correct timings of their bakes.
Faldo came first in the technical challenge and wowed in the showstopper, making her the obvious choice for star baker this week.
It was baker James Hillery who was sent home after presenting raw cake mixture to the judges. Paul Hollywood described it as “all Wrong” and James left the tent telling judges that his time on the show has been “humbling”.
Next week is Pastry Week famous for it's soggy bottoms so we shall wait in anticipation to see what happens.
Bake Off airs on Channel 4 from 8pm on Tuesdays.
