The South Norwood Animal Rescue Liberty group (SNARL) made an appeal for witnesses last weekend after the body of a cat was found in Orpington.

SNARL, which is involved in the hunt for the so-called 'Croydon cat killer', is asking members of the public to come forward if they saw a person interfering with the body of a male tabby cat in Petten Grove on Saturday morning.

The group also wants to find out who owns the tabby cat.

A spokesperson from SNARL said in a Facebook post:"Thanks to the finders who contacted us and to Bromley Police as always for their prompt attendance and professionalism.

"Rest in peace little one xx"

Anybody who has any information should call the police on 101 and quote CAD2865/260817 and Operation Takahe.

SNARL can be contacted on 07961 030064 or 07957 830490.
