A burger called the Bromley Bad Boy has been specially designed to celebrate the launch of a new food van this Friday.

Burger connoisseurs should approve of the Bad Boy which consists of a juicy British beef patty encrusted with mustard and topped with Applewood smoked cheddar, crispy bacon, pickles, fresh lettuce, home-pickled red onion, chipotle mayo and ketchup. All served in a buttery brioche bun.

Gourmet street food company Knowing Meat Knowing You will come to Bromley Market in High Street on August 25.

The van will also be at the market the next day (Aug 26) and the following week on Aug 31, September 1 and 2.

Clint Davies, 35, of Cambridge Road, Bromley North, was made redundant from a job in the city and decided to start the company.

He has teamed up with master butchers Andrews of Bromley to create the perfect meat patty.

Mr Davies said: “I love Bromley. I’m born and bred here and I have a soft spot in my heart for the area.

"I think I can definitely bring something new to street food. I have been a burger connoisseur all my life and I like to think I know what makes not just a good burger but a bloody good one!

“It is all about top-quality ingredients and that starts with grass-fed meat. Then you can complement it with all of the home-made elements which should sing from the rooftops.

“We make each burger with love and care like it’s the last burger we will ever make."

Staff will be handing out flyers in the town centre over the next couple of weeks for an introductory offer of £6 for a burger and soft drink.

Flyers will also give people the opportunity to vote for the next dish on the menu and to be entered into a prize draw to win £50 of Love To Shop vouchers.
