A football fundraising match played in honour of a man from Erith who died suddenly raised four times its target.
Shane Holland, from Slade Green, died in December 2016 on his way to work.
On Saturday, a football match was organised in his honour to raise money to provide heart screenings for young people to be carried out by charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.
Dan Medlen, Shane’s friend helped organise the game along with CRY.
He said: “We had just over 600 people come through the gates. We raised £20,355 which was a lot more than we expected.
“There are not many times I am lost for words but Sunday was one of them.
“It is certainly something we are going to look to do again, for it to become a tradition in Shane’s name.”
Daniel said there are plans to organise more events in Shane’s memory, but it may not always be a football match.
The match, which was held at Pheonix Sports Club, raised enough money for 400 screenings for students at Shane’s old school.
Shane’s close friends played a team of his uncle’s friends in a game that finished 1-1, with his uncle’s friends winning on penalties.
