A 45-year-old man is in critical condition with a serious head injury after being punched and falling to the ground in Deptford.
Police were called to reports of a man assaulted in New Cross Road near the junction with Deptford High Street last Wednesday (November 2).
The incident followed a dispute in the street and the London Ambulance Service and officers from Lewisham CID attended.
There have been no arrests at this stage and police have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection to the assault.
The man in the CCTV still is shown near the location of the incident.
Anyone with information that may assist police, or who can recognise the man shown in the image, should call Lewisham via 101.
