A fire ripped through a flat in Thamesmead.
14 firefighters beat back the blaze in Poplar Place.
Part of the first floor of the building was damaged by the inferno.
Three fire engines were called to the fire at a block of flats just after 1pm yesterday afternoon (November 3).
Two people in the flat were rescued and led to safety by firefighters.
Fire crews from Plumstead, Erith and Bexley fire stations attended the scene and were able to bring the flames under control by 2.15pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
