An elderly woman has been treated by paramedics after she was hit by a car in Lewisham.

Part of Lewisham High Street remains closed after the collision at around 9am this morning.

A female pedestrian in her 80s was left injured after being hit in Molesworth Street.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service and officers remain at the scene.

A spokesman for the force said the woman is being treated by paramedics and they await an update on her condition.

He said: "Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) on Wednesday, October 12 shortly before 9am to a report of a collision between a car and a pedestrian at Molesworth Street, SE13.

"Officers attended along with the LAS and found the female pedestrian believed to be in her 80s injured at the location."

The driver of the car stopped at the scene of the crash and is helping officers with their enquiries.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
