More than 12,000 people have signed a petition to begin a public enquiry into the performance of the northbound Dartford Crossing.
There have been persistent problems at the crossing for a long time and frustrated drivers are fed-up.
The petition, started by Alan Pattison, reads: “Road users and hauliers have been suffering the incompetence of the ‘new and improved’ northbound Dartford River Crossing for too long.
“After the multi-million pound improvement works were completed road users have had to bear the brunt of a botched scheme which shows no evidence of improvement.”
The petition will get a response from parliament after gaining more than the necessary 10,000 signatures.
Furthermore, if the petition surpasses 100,000 signatures then it will be considered for debate in parliament.
More Dartford Crossing chaos happened this morning when drivers were left trapped in their cars for five hours due to road works.
