Police discovered a massive stash of drugs which appeared to be packed for distribution when they raided a car on an Abbey Wood traveller site last week.

Officers from Plumstead and Eltham Safer Neighborhood Team obtained a warrant to search for the vehicle on the Thistlebrook Estate on Thursday (September 8).

Police took emergency response officers along after receiving information that the vehicle was being used to store large quantity of drugs.

Officers had to smash the window to gain entry - and the search revealed self-sealed bags with large quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis and scales.

The community on the site were briefed about the police operation.
