An academy trust will stop operating primary schools across Kent after handing over the responsibility of running them.
The Lilac Sky Sports Academy Trust runs Knockhall Academy in Greenhithe, along with other schools in Sheerness and Folkestone.
The trust said it is working closely with the Department of Education (DfE) to transfer the running of the nine primary schools.
It wants to ensure that pupils’ education is not disrupted, and that plans will be in place for the new academic year in September.
Part of the statement reads: “This was clearly a very difficult decision to make, but was done so in the best interests of the children.
“We are also working closely with the Principal of each school, as well as the new trusts, to ensure that the children's education is not disrupted.
“All of the schools will finish the academic year as planned and be able to reopen for the new academic year in September.”
