Lifeboat crews have been called-out to a person in distress at Gravesend.
The town's RNLI service was called to the banks of the Thames, close to the promenade, just before 3am this morning (June 19).
Kent Police were also called and officers persuaded the person to move away from the water.
A spokesman for Gravesend RNLI said: "Once on scene the lifeboat stood-by while the person was being spoken to by land-side police officers.
"They were persuaded to move away from the water and into their care.
"The lifeboat was then stood down and returned to station."
