Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorist allegedly attacked another driver following a minor crash in Darenth.

Kent Police were called to the London-bound carriageway of the A2 following reports of an assault on February 5.

Two cars, reportedly a Vauxhall Astra and what was described as a black Volkswagen, bumped each other around 7pm.

Both pulled over on to the hard shoulder, but the driver of the Volkswagen car then attacked the other 23-year-old driver.

He was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 30 years old, of slim build and approximately 6ft tall.

He had short brown hair, and was wearing jeans and a black jacket.

The vehicle could have had a 56 registration plate.

Detective Constable Kelly Tindall, investigating officer at Kent Police, said: "Enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver of one of the vehicles.

"It is possible that this vehicle has damage on the driver’s side.

"I would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information about the vehicle involved to contact police as you may be able to help with ongoing enquiries."
