Visitors to Bluewater Shopping Centre were evacuated last night after a security scare when a package was left unattended.
Kent Police officers began evacuating several stores after the package was found at around 5.30pm.
A spokesman for the force said bomb disposal experts carried out a controlled explosion on the package which was later discovered to be harmless.

Officers are now investigating who it belonged to and why it was left unattended.
Chief Superintendent Andrea Bishop said: “The safety of the public is our top priority and I would like to thank all the staff and shoppers at Bluewater for their co-operation.”
